MoF fetes 44 retired officers

THE Ministry of Finance (MoF) yesterday paid tributes to 44 retired officers and staff of the departments under it by presenting certificates of retirement.

 Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II presented the certificates as the guest of honour.

Also in attendance were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister of Finance (Fiscal); Dato Seri Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew
bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance (Investment) as well as permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and heads of departments of the ministry.

In his speech, Dato Paduka Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Permanent Secretary (Policy and Investment) at the MoF, said, “On behalf of the Ministry of Finance, I would like to express gratitude for your loyal service and contributions. The ceremony is a tribute to your services at the ministry and the departments under it.”

He added, “Retirement does not mean that it’s the end for an individual to contribute to the development of the country. There are many opportunities that retirees can venture into such as business or any other field that can bring good returns.”

The event aimed to maintain and nurture a close relationship between the staff of the ministry and the retirees.
